Intro
In 2021, when we were only a blog, we wrote the article Swedish Climate Tech Companies. We said that there are many kinds of software developed to solve climate change, and wanted to highlight such Swedish companies specifically.
Similar to our previous article, we wanted to give an updated version covering 10 new such companies in Sweden.
The Companies
Klimato
About: In the first edition, we wrote about Carboncloud, a service for calculating of climate footprints of food products through production processes and supply chains - catered toward food production companies. Klimato is also in this domain, but provides a specialized database and system directly to restaurants, caterers, and other food companies to calculate emissions of and label recipes. Empowering them to see emissions in real-time and select and change ingredients to reduce the climate footprint of their dishes. They're currently hiring a Senior Proudct Manager!
Flower
About: An energy forecasting, optimization, and trading software to, as they put it, "enable the energy system of tomorrow." They also has something called "Flower Hub" for homeowners to connect their own batteries to the energy network to optimize the energy market, make money on their excess energy, and contribute to the transition to fossil-free energy. They're hiring a lot, maybe they have a perfect position open for you - so go get 'em tiger!
Eliq
About: Gives "customers control of their consumption, and inspiring them to take part in the energy transition." They do this by connecting utilities, banks and other service providers with their customers through a white label app. They're hiring in Gothenburg!
Econans
About: Energy transition solution number three, but we promise it's the last one. Econans focuses on the energy transition of buildings, catered to banks. Their software simulates the energy transition of property portfolios and giving energy and climate risks data. They're also headquartered in Gothenburg and is looking for a software engineering intern.
Datia
About: Optimizes sustainable finance processes for asset managers with data sourcing, portfolio calculations, and ready-to-share reports. They're hiring a Senior Software Engineer in Stockholm!
Deedster
About: their vision is to enable the shift to a sustainable world by engaging millions of people in climate action. Deedster is for corporations to engage their employees with their net zero goals, and for banks & fintech to engage customers.
Trine
About: Platform for people to invest in a greener future by supporting clean energy projects in emerging markets.
GoClimate
About: The all-in-one hub for people and companies to take real climate action. They offer companies to calculate their co2 emissions, report their emissions, get professional advice to reduce emissions, and financing of certified climate projects.
Plant
About: Shifting away focus from calculating companies' emissions, Plant does it for construction. The Plant software calculate the potential emissions from construction projects to reach sustainability goals and get certifications. They're hiring a leader in their LCA team.
Sellpy
About: The clothing industry significantly impacts the environment through water consumption, pollution, carbon emissions, and textile waste. The whole lifecycle of clothing, from production to recycling, needs to be reimagined. Sellpy takes care of the latter part by providing an easy way to sell and buy second-hand clothes online. They're a real hit, and they are growing and hiring!
