Climate Solution Companies in Sweden 2025

Companies solving the hard problems that you should join

Intro

In 2021, when we were only a blog, we wrote the article Professional Climate Action in Sweden. We said that joining and working for companies tackling problems concerning our planet is the most impactful type of climate action. We stand by it, which is why we also fully launched earthforce in March 2025. Our goal is to create the best hiring experience possible for both job seekers and employers - solely for companies making a real, positive impact on the planet, ultimately funneling the absolute top talent (you reading this?) into them - to solve the world's hardest problems.

Similar to our previous article, we wanted to give an updated version of companies in Sweden tackling the different sectors of greenhouse gas emissions. Although outdated, this breakdown from the IPCC is still highly relevant:

So let us do an updated breakdown per sector with new companies not included in the previous article (see the previous article for a detailed description of each sector). We won't list job openings at these companies here, as we intend for you to get matched to openings at these companies that are a good fit, right here on earthforce - you can get going here.

Sector Breakdown

Building Operations

Aira

  • About: Aira is tackling a huge problem that has a simple solution, gas boilers powering homes that can be replaced by heat pumps, which can eliminate CO2 emissions and reduce heating costs for homeowners. They do this by offering homeowners a heat pump subscription to prevent a high upfront cost, thereby lowering the barrier to replacing their gas boiler with heat pumps. Aira is a company with ambition and determination, has many job openings, and is an exciting company to join in its mission to slash emissions by replacing all gas boilers with heat pumps.

  • Website

Tibber

  • About: A lot is happening in energy infrastructure and optimization. Tibber is bringing their solutions straight into peoples' homes. They help people reduce energy consumption at home, without compromising on comfort. Because the greenest energy is the one you don't use. They have plenty of job openings, and surely one of them is a good fit for you.

  • Website

Lindinvent

  • About: you might have heard of Aira and Tibber, but have you heard about Lindinvent? Lindinvent is not among the 'hot' climate tech startups in plain sight, but our climate experts are adept at finding these companies that might not stand out but do make a real impact on the planet. Lindinvent provides smart and sustainable indoor climate solutions to building projects. Examples are smart climate-controlling mechanisms, sun protection controlling, and light controlling. All to reduce energy consumption, preventing unnecessary energy consumption. An example project is Greenhaus, a certified environment gold building by the Swedish Green Building Council.

Manufacturing

Cemvision

  • About: Speaking of buildings, they require a lot of material, and one in particular, cement, which is infamous for being unsustainable to produce. In Cemvision's own words, they're "Re-inventing the world’s most important construction material" - cement. They call it re-ment, the most resource-efficient cement. There's a lot of innovative sustainable building materials out there, everything from just wood to moss facades. Cement might stick around though, so Cemvision is probably written in the stars to play a role in the transition toward sustainable building materials. Most importantly, they have job openings so you can join their mission!

  • Website

Trifilon

  • About: did you think you'd get through this article without reading about plastics? Civilization is heavily dependent on plastic, and it might take a while to completely shift to sustainable substitutes. Trifilon is helping society speedrun toward that goal with climate-smart plastics, reducing carbon footprint by at least 40%, often up to 90%. Fun fact: aforementioned Tibber uses Trifilon's plastics for their products.

  • Website

Stegra

  • About: We've listed some ambitious companies taking on big problems, this might be one of, if not the biggest undertakings in Sweden currently, Stegra taking on the steel problem. In their own words: "The steel industry alone accounts for more than 7% of the world's CO₂ emissions." something they're tackling by building a plant in Boden capable of producing near-zero emission steel. And this takes a lot of talented people to achieve. As of writing this, they have 76 open positions.

Transportation

Candela

  • About: Boats. Candela electrifies boats. With cool, hydrofoil boats. If you don't know what that means, go to their website and you'll see. Anyway, all industries and sectors need to undergo the green transition, so anything you can think of, including boats, to reach a net-zero society. If you like boats (and assuming you have a passion for climate action), this is the place for you to work.

  • Website

Vidde

  • About: if we go to the next item on the list of sectors to electrify, we get to snowmobiles. Vidde is the company taking care of that. If you've been on a snowmobile, imagine how much more magical a ride will be without the noise from a 2-cylinder combustion engine. Snowmobile lovers should keep an eye out for jobs at Vidde!

  • Website

Charge Amps

  • About: a more conventional electric vehicle is the car, and with electric cars (EVs) becoming increasingly common, massive infrastructure is needed for charging. Charge Amps is one of the companies providing EV charging solutions.

Agriculture

Melt&Marble

  • About: we use fats for products that are not only food. Fats that come from animals. Instead of the resource-intensive and unsustainable process of raising a pig to then slaughtering it to use its fats for products like food, candy, and lotions, Melt&Marble uses a technique called precision fermentation to produce fats more sustainably.

  • Website

Petgood

  • About: another innovative approach to the consumption of animal products is Petgood's insect-based pet food. Human consumption of animals is an issue, but we also own a lot of pets that need to eat and often eat even less healthy and less sustainable animal products than humans. It might be hard to make people adopt insect foods, but our pets don't mind, so why not give them insect protein?

  • Website

Agteria

  • About: plant-based diets are more sustainable than animal-based. But most of us want to enjoy a nice steak and some cheese sometimes. Agteria is pioneering a solution to make that steak sustainable also. As they put it "Cattle produce as much emissions as the entire United States, the world’s second-largest greenhouse gas emitter." They've developed a feed additive for cows to reduce the emissions that cows produce.

Electricity Generation

Modvion

  • About: Wind power, a fossil-free energy source, has been around for a while. Modvion is taking a new approach to it, building wind turbine towers in wood - solving many challenges with wind power such as transportation and material production.

  • Website

Minesto

  • About: we mentioned CorPower Ocean, a wave power company, in our previous article. Minesto has developed a different approach to wave power, in their own words "Generating electricity from predictable tidal streams and ocean currents by a unique principle."

  • Website

Altris

  • About: Important aspects of a successful transition to a fossil-free energy society are grids and storage. Altris is one of many companies developing solutions for energy storage, and their approach is sodium-ion batteries. They're hiring in Uppsala!
